How do I know if my WordPress site has been hacked?
Common signs include a red “This site may be hacked” or “Deceptive site ahead” warning in Google or Chrome, visitors being redirected to spam sites, strange Japanese or pharmacy pages appearing in search results for your domain, unknown administrator accounts, your host suspending the account, or the site suddenly becoming very slow or showing a blank page. How long does WordPress malware removal take?

No. We clean WordPress sites on any host, in Australia or overseas. We just need administrator, FTP or cPanel access. If you’d prefer to move to our managed WordPress hosting after the clean-up we can arrange that, but it’s never a condition.
Will you remove the Google “This site may be hacked” warning?
Yes. Once the site is clean we submit a review request through Google Search Console and, where relevant, other blacklists such as McAfee, Norton and Bitdefender. Google normally lifts the warning within a few days of a successful review.
Can’t I just restore a backup instead?
Sometimes, but usually not safely. Most infections have been present for weeks before you notice, so your backups are often infected too. Restoring also puts back the same outdated plugin or theme the attacker used to get in, so you’re typically hacked again within days. Cleaning and hardening fixes the cause.
What if the malware comes back?
